+ Good afternoon. I hope and pray that each parishioner of St. Ben's is strong and well and surviving all the effects of Covid-19 and every other challenge to our peace today!
I am happy to report that most all my family and I are through the active symptoms of Covid. Aside from an occasional cough, we have all survived relatively unscathed.
My brother, John, remains in the hospital and could very much use your prayers.
With my doctor's permission, I plan to begin actively serving as your pastor againĀ beginning this Tuesday. I encourage you to join me in offering a grateful prayer for Fr. Brenner & Fr. Nunning for providing their ministry over the past four weeks.
I have missed you. I am grateful for the many acts of kindness and especially the prayers. They have sustained me.
Some have suggested that I might have lost my mind during 18 days of being in the rectory alone. Actually, I've been ok with the quiet -- such as it was with dozens of texts and dozens more emails each day. If I'd have had more energy, it might have been tough. I've learned many lessons over the past few weeks. Homilies in the future will perhaps offer some of those lessons.
May God bring healing to our world and teach us to love one another more completely everyday. Let's be good to one another and for one another. Let's take care of each other as we love one another, according to the Lord's holy command.
Peace --
Fr. Godfrey
